Viva!

As an Arizona native, I have made many trip to Las Vegas. With just a short 6 hour drive it makes a convenient vacation spot. Some of my friends thought it would be fun to plan a big trip to Las Vegas for St. Patricks day and for March Madness. We ended up having a huge group of people going – about 15. So we all hit the road on Wednesday evening for our long weekend in Vegas!
After a long day at work and a 6 hour drive in the car we were glad to be there. We spent our first night at Circus Circus and wasted no time to hit the town – after all it was only 11 pm when we arrived!

A few of the ladies - Lets just way we were all a little tired!
On St. Pattys day morning we headed over to our new hotel for the remainder of the trip. We took a nice drive down the strip, one of my favorite things to do in Vegas (minus the traffic, of course)

It took forever to check in – who knew March Madness was so crazy in Las Vegas?! We were all starving so we made a quick lunch decision and decided to go to Margaritaville simply due to convenience. Lucky for us they had special green margaritas for St. Patty’s day!

We were all dressed in green to be festive!

Latter in the day we walked around the strip and checked out a few of the casinos. Me and a few of the girls took a class over at Planet Hollywood too. It was lots of fun!

For dinner we decided to go to BB Kings Blues Club and Restaurant. We decided to go here because I scored a great deal on resaurants.com for a $100 gift certificate and I only paid $3! We ended up getting there a little late and they only had their late night menu, so I was bummed that we weren't able to order off the regular one. However, there was a live blues band playing and we had some delicious sweet potato puffs and fried pickles!

Fried Pickles!

These were SO incredibly good! It was basically like a sweet potato - tater tot with a caramel dipping sauce. Surprisingly very delicious :)

The BB King live blues band – they were really good!

Friday morning we hit walked around the strip a little more and had lunch at the buffet inside Paris. I was surprised that the food was actually good, I haven't had too many good experiences at buffets but this one was far better than others I’ve experienced in the past.
After lunch we went to the Madame Tussands wax museum. It was lots of fun!

I took over as Obama’s assistant…and got a few dirty looks from a few of the bystanders. I guess they didn’t appreciate me climbing on top of Obama’s desk? I didn’t want be boring and pose behind the desk, what fun would that be?
For dinner Friday night we went to Carnegie Delicatessen. I have to give my friend Chelle props for this dinner pick. She said she wanted to go to a “deli” that she ate at last time she was in Vegas. I was very skeptical of this “deli” then after seeing the menu I was sold. It was really good and I think everyone enjoyed their food.
We had tickets to see the Beatles LOVE cirque du soliel show. It was really good, and probably one of the best cirque shows I’ve ever seen. After the show we decided to hit up a few night clubs. While walking around on Thursday I got approached by one of the club promoters and got put on the VIP list for Tryst. This was an awesome club, it had a waterfall inside of it..yes an actual waterfall. Awesome. I am kicking myself for not getting a photo.

Before hitting the road to head home, we decided to go to Serendipity 3 at Caesars Palace for our last meal. I was dying to try their frozen hot chocolate and happened to find a coupon for a free one right before we headed over there, gotta love it! The weather during our trip was a little cold, but seemed to be even worse while we were waiting to get our table at Serendipity.

It was really windy too, so a few of us had some hot chocolate while waiting. When it came time to eat our frozen hot chocolate, it really did taste just like their hot chocolate. It was awesome to get to compare to two! It was really good – I would highly recommend getting one the next time you're in Vegas. The food I ordered was really good too, my sandwich had brie cheese and apples on it and came with sweet potato fries – yum!

So that was our little trip to Las Vegas – lots of fun but one of those places I can only handle in small doses.
