March AZ Blogger Meet Up

Hello! I had a busy busy weekend filled with good friends and delicious food! Friday night started with a girls night and staying up far too late chatting. Then Saturday was our March Blogger Meet Up!

The meet up was a hike at Piestewa Peak at 3 pm, followed by dinner at La Grande Orange at 6 pm. Ari had a genius idea that her Carolyn and I should ride our bikes to the meet up…all the way from Mesa. I’m still not sure how she managed to convince me to do this (especially since my longest time on a bike at once was 5 miles..) but we eventually made it there after 30 miles of riding and about 45 minutes late. Luckily the ladies we were meeting forgave us for the tardiness!

We set out on trail #302 that circles around the mountain. we hiked for about 30 minutes before turning around to head back to the parking area. I had a great time chatting with some of the girls – finding out a little more about them and what they do. The hike was a good way for us all to have time to talk and take some photo’s. Unfortunately that bike ride had me pretty exhausted so I’m sure I wasn’t quite my normal spunky self.

After the hike we rode on over to La Grande Orange in Phoenix. If you haven't been there, let me start by telling you that this place is adorable! It’s a restaurant, a café and little grocery store filled with wine, books and other foodie items – it was so fun to check out and the food was fantastic! Plus I got a few items for my Foodie Pen Pal this month and an A to Z cookie before we left.

Dinner was absolutely amazing. We started with the LGO chips & dips plate (courtesy of LGO management) – It was piled high with guacamole, salsa and the most delicious pimento dip I’ve ever had. I really wanted to shovel it all into my mouth like a crazy women, but refrained and decided to eat like a lady ;)

Without much hesitation most of us decided on splitting a few bottles of wine. Megan made a delicious decision on the Cabernet that was split between her, myself and Marisa. Everyone ordered pizza for dinner – I had the Roasted Corn, which was SO good. And a few of the other girls had the Avocado pizza and the Mother Earth Pizza.

While eating our pizzas we chatted the night away talking about everything from blogging to work to races and running.

After a bit of conversation Emily and I decided to introduce the new project we have been working on for the past few months. We have officially launched the Arizona Bloggers Network!

The Arizona Bloggers Network is a site that brings together Arizona’s female blogging community. It will serve as a place to connect bloggers and allow them to share information and resources – as well as a tool for coordinating meet ups. So if you are woman who lives in Arizona and you’ve got a passion for blogging, please head over to the site and register your blog (it’s free!). Thank you to all of you who attended the meet up – I had a lot of fun getting to know more about all of you! I am really excited to see how our group grows and what we will have in store for the rest of this year! We are looking at doing another meet up for AZ’s fabulous female bloggers following Pat’s Run on April 21st, so stay tuned on the Network site to get all the details :)
