I know I jumped the gun a little by doing my half marathon post :) But I wanted to share! So now we can back up a few days and talk about our fun day at Disneyland!
Disneyland is one of those places that I love – The second I get there I am overwhelmed with joy and excitement! Perhaps this stems from never getting to visit in my childhood years, but I have have developed a fond love for the place. As a teenager I made lots of trips there, and lance and I have made too many together to count.
Our plan of action is always the same: wake up early and get to the park right when they open, hurry over to all the good rides and get on them before there are lines :) Most of the time this starts with Indiana Jones and we work our way around hitting Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain, and Space Mountain. But this time we did it a little different – we hit up space mountain first, then went around to the others.
I would say we probably waited for about 15 minutes by the time we got over to Indiana Jones, which was the last on our popular ride list. Not too shabby if you ask me! It was 10 am and we hit all of the big ones or had a fast pass to enjoy them a little later.
Lance and I with some churros in front of Rivers of America
We enjoyed various Disney snacks throughout the day including churros (Disney’s are always the best!), a mickey shaped pretzel, popcorn, and one of my fav’s the pineapple Dole whip.
We spent most of the afternoon checking out the less busy rides and even went across to Tom Sawyer’s Island and explored some of the caves/tunnels and tried to steal some pirate gold ;) That was my first time checking it out since it’s always been super hot when we’ve gone, but it was pretty fun – I can see why the kids love it!
There was a pretty neat little Lunar New Year set up too, which was cool to see. I was oddly excited about it…
We also spent a little time in Toon Town, which I haven't done in years. We got all kinds of goofy pictures and even waited in front of Mini’s house to get a photo with her.
Mini is a girl after my own heart – look at her fridge stocked full of cheese!
Rancho Del Zocalo in Frontierland
And lunch was some delicious Mexican food from Rancho Del Zocalo – it was such a gorgeous day that we had to eat outside. We usually eat at CafĂ© Orleans or somewhere in New Orleans Square, but I am always impressed by all of the Disneyland food. The restaurants do a good job for it being fast food, the quality and taste are always there.
It wouldn’t be Disneyland without hitting up some of the kid rides too :) I rode the teacup ride for the first time ever!
I like this photo cuz my crazy hair makes it look like we were spinning really fast!
and kicked some major Emperor Zurg booty on the Astro Blaster ride – and for some reason I look bored with my 81,200 score haha
We did a little shopping too – I’ve been enchanted by this Mimi Mouse apron the last few times we have visited Disney theme parks and Lance ended up getting it for me after the race :)
Awkward photo, but look Ari! We think alike!
It was a long fun day – and I was exhausted by the end of it :) I love Disneyland and can’t wait for our next visit!
Hahahahaha I can't believe we both took a picture with the same apron! Great minds! :)
ReplyDeleteYay! I love all those things about Disneyland, well the teacups have never been my thing, but I want to go back now!
