Bridal Shower Fun

I couldn’t have been more excited when my dear friend Crystal announced that Ross had popped the question and that they were engaged! They are one the most fun and loving couples I know – and I can’t wait for their wedding! As one of the bridesmaids, I was lucky enough to get to throw Crystal a bridal shower, which took place this weekend.

I had been in full planning mode for weeks and crafted some invitations to match the theme of black and white damask print with teal accents. I also made lots of corresponding decorations :)

Since it was an afternoon shower I focused on having lots of delicious desserts and ordered a small sandwich tray from the deli. The dessert table was coordinated to go with the theme (recipes to come!)

I also made personalized water bottle labels and mini candy bar labels to match!

One of the other bridesmaids recently moved out of state and she was unable to make a trip out here for the shower so we Skyped her to get her involved with the shower festivities. It couldn’t have worked out better! We set up my laptop in the room so Denise could see what was going on and so that people could sit and chat with her! We used the file share on Skype to send things back and forth – she was even able to do the wedding word search I created for the shower guests.

We also played a round of “Name that Tune” with song clips I put together from various songs with the word “love” in the title. Despite the fact that she was playing via Skype, Denise was phenomenal at this game! Later we had teams make toilet paper wedding dresses – these were really fun!

And I had some sugar cookies packaged up for the guests to take home as a thank you for attending

Overall it was a fun day! It was so wonderful getting to celebrate this special time in Crystals life with such amazing women :)
